Raise a Glass at the Welshpool Beer and Cider Festival

Get ready for a weekend of Midsummer Madness as the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway hosts a Beer & Cider Festival – a unique event set to combine the rustic charm and heritage of steam travel with the lively spirit of the community.

All Aboard for Ales & Adventure

On Friday 13^th and Saturday 14^th June, this family-friendly festival blends heritage railway with a selection of craft drinks, hot food, and live music.

Held at Welshpool Raven Square Station, the festival features 15 draught ales and beers, eight ciders, and two gins from a range of craft breweries. Whether you’re planning a trip for the beer, the views, or the midsummer fun, this is a ride you won’t want to miss!

Midsummer Madness on Tap (& Track)

Festival entry is £4 for adults (which includes a reusable festival cup), and under 18s are free.

For those wanting the full experience, the £29 ticket includes unlimited train travel all day PLUS festival entry and two drink tokens. Visitors can hop on and off, taking in the breathtaking views along the way.

Steam-Powered Summer Fun

On Friday evening, why not take a sunset trip and explore the line at your leisure…

• Llanfair (SY21 0SF) to Welshpool: 18:00 – 18:45
• Welshpool (SY21 7LT) to Llanfair: 22:30 – 23:15.

…or, on Saturday, board one of the two trains running for an unforgettable journey.

• Departures from Llanfair: 10:30 / 12:00 / 13:45 / 15:30 / 18:30
• Departures from Welshpool: 11:45 / 13:30 / 15:15 / 16:50 / 22:30.

Live Music Line-Up

Thanks to the support from local music production company, Charman Promotions, Welshpool Raven Square Station will be alive with great sounds from Dave Nettleton, Daf Jones, Ellie Galvin, Smith & Johnson, Josh Beddis, and more.

Festival Opening Times: Friday 5pm to 10.30pm, and Saturday 11am to 10.30pm.
